The recipient of the 2022 ACS Astrochemistry Outstanding Dissertation Award is our group member and PostDoctoral researcher Dr. Joan Enrique-Romero for his PhD thesis dissertation entitled ┬źSurface chemistry of molecules of astrophysical interest: theory and simulations┬╗ (link). Joan developed his PhD thesis in the ┬źInstitut de Plan├ętologie et Astrophysique de Grenoble┬╗ (France) and the ┬źUniversitat Aut├▓noma de Barcelona┬╗ (Spain) under the supervision of Cecilia Ceccarelli and Albert Rimola in the ┬źDawn of Organic Chemistry┬╗ (visit DOC’s web page here) and the ┬źQuantum Grain┬╗ groups.

Besides the recognition of Joan’s work, this award also contains a 500$ prize, a $500 travel award from ACS Earth and Space Chemistry, and an invitation to speak at the Astrochemistry symposium at a national ACS meeting in the United States!
