The recipient of the 2022 ACS Astrochemistry Outstanding Dissertation Award is our group member and PostDoctoral researcher Dr. Joan Enrique-Romero for his PhD thesis dissertation entitled «Surface chemistry of molecules of astrophysical interest: theory and simulations» (link). Joan developed his PhD thesis in the «Institut de Planétologie et Astrophysique de Grenoble» (France) and the «Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona» (Spain) under the supervision of Cecilia Ceccarelli and Albert Rimola in the «Dawn of Organic Chemistry» (visit DOC’s web page here) and the «Quantum Grain» groups.

Besides the recognition of Joan’s work, this award also contains a 500$ prize, a $500 travel award from ACS Earth and Space Chemistry, and an invitation to speak at the Astrochemistry symposium at a national ACS meeting in the United States!
