An important reentry event was recorded from Spain on Feb. 16th, 2021 starting at 5h57m36s TU by several stations of the Spanish Fireball and Meteorite Network (SPMN).
To study this event in detail, it was necessary to adapt the plane intersection method for near-straight meteoroid trajectories to analyze slow and curved orbits associated with artificial objects.
By comparing the astrometric solution with the expected path of the 2nd stage of the Falcon 9 rocket used in Starlink V1 L19 mission it was found a good match. This has been possible thanks to the close collaboration with the SPMN network led by Josep M. Trigo-Rodríguez (CSIC-IEEC).
